Description: Hollywood classic from the Broadway musical adaptation "Anything Goes" (1934). Seems easy enough to find the pictures to illustrate this great Cole Porter tune, except: no one seems to know what a Bendel Bonnet looked like anymore, there's no pictures of Frank Sinatra performing together with Ethel Merman (the sound track is from a TV special adaptation they did in 1956 - if anyone finds pictures, please let me know), and...how do you illustrate "the top"?...tried as best as I could, but my idea was different in the outset. Anyway, dedicated to all my friends: each and every one of you is "the top"! |
