Yeah, I kissed my rose hair tarantula once and the hairs made my lips itch for a day or two. BTW, I am well aware that that is the point of it's hair so there is no need to point out that they are supposed to cause irritation.

Okay, lemme ask you something else. How is kissing my pet reptile any different from simply holding it? If I cough, which almost everyone does, the germs from my mouth are now on my hands which have just touched my gecko. Not to mention every time I exhale, all those germs pour out of my mouth, and God help me if I were to sneeze...granted, if I were to LICK it, there'd be a lot more germs passed onto it than by touch, but I don't make it a habit to lick my pets...not even my furry pets.

kept your mouth open to discourage germs breeding at an alarming rate on your tongue, teeth and within your saliva. You only breathe pure air because you wouldn't want anything bad to infect your gecko as you kiss its eye, which it licks consistently throughout the day, and you kissed that area, so crickets to gecko, gecko to human. It's all too easy but hey good luck. Isn't college fun?

You are correct in the dangers of eating undercooked or uncooked food, but the chances are slimmer, bugs which are fed to geckos are usually alive, unless you hand washed them, your gecko is eating them alive, feces and all. I'm sure your cricket keeper isn't perfectly kept spotless and that you don't clean it on the hour. But apparently you sensibly see and understand the risks involved in kissing your gecko. I mean of course you brushed your teeth with hydrogen peroxide, diluted of course,

I'm well aware of the dangers posed by kissing my pets...and it's not much more dangerous than eating my steak medium-rare or sneaking a little pancake batter (which might I remind you contains raw eggs). I don't feed my tokays crickets very often at all...besides, bugs (including crickets) have been proven to be quite healthy for you (though it is recommended to cook them to remove kill off all parasites).

Ok yeah, don't EVER kiss your geckos, come on. Being a responsible pet owner also means keeping yourself healthy, do you realize they eat crickets which produce some of the most deadly bacteria? Always wash your hands before AND after if you can. Why? Because they can contract things from you too and vice versa. Sick.
