That was some good info there Bob. I've never used stud finders my self, a good old nail, hammer, and the bang of a hand works great for me. However I must say your information made me think differently about them, I'm probably not going to go out and buy one, but if I do ever used one I'll have a lot more confidence in it.

The $10.00 model was by Zircon.Not a recommendation but it works for me.The lazer level studfinder is offered by Black and Decker and I have been real satisfied with its performance-Hope this helped----Bob
