Description: BUFFALO, New York -- For eight days now, the Russell family of North Tonawanda had been trying to coax their one year old cat named bear down from the top of the tree about 60-feet tall. But their pleas haven't helped. The family's 30 foot ladder was too short, as was another one the North Tonawanda Police tried to use. A Verizon serviceman tried to rescue Bear but his bucket truck wasn't tall enough either. Neighbors came out to watch the efforts as word got out about Bear's predicament. Then made one more call to the Tree Doctor. They arrived within the hour. Dan Mosher took to the skies in his bucket truck lined Bear up in his sights and made the rescue. That brought on a loud cheer from the neighbors watching. Down on the ground there was a happy reunion as Martha and Clifford Russell embraced their pet. Bear was on his way to the vet just to be sure that the only thing his tree ordeal game him was a good scare. |
